Why Participate?

Connect Canada can help faculty supervisors partner with leading companies from all sectors across Ontario. Internships must focus on an R&D issue. Regardless of whether the internship proposal begins with a company or with a faculty supervisor, the goal of the project must be new or enhanced knowledge or technology.

Faculty supervisors with existing partnerships with companies can leverage Connect Canada funding to strengthen research collaborations. Each four month internship consists of a $5,000 contribution from the partner company and $10,000 from Connect Canada and TalentEdge. The funds are sent to the faculty supervisor for distribution to the intern.

Connect Canada takes no ownership of intellectual property generated through a placement. Intellectual property agreements are to be determined by the terms of the intern’s home institution, unless a separate agreement is negotiated between the school, faculty supervisor and sponsoring company.

2015 Connect Canada is managed by AUTO21 Inc. and supported by the University of Windsor
